Summer is here – it's a great time to go out and explore! The Ottawa Chinese Community Service Centre is organizing a day trip to the town of Almonte on Saturday, May 31.
Almonte is a charming mill town about 50 km from Ottawa. In the 19th century, it was a thriving textile center. Today, it is known for its scenic beauty, with a waterfall running through the town, and it still retains its Victorian architecture. The main street features unique shops, art galleries, and restaurants. We will explore various attractions around town and enjoy a picnic in the park. It’s a great opportunity to admire the scenery, make new friends, and learn about Canadian history.
Attractions include:
Farmers’ Market, Almonte Old Town Hall, Almonte Dam & Old Mill, Town Centre, Riverwalk, Mississippi Valley Textile Museum, and Metcalfe Geoheritage Park
